Looking forward: January’s promising events in East Texas! Welcome to 2020! Etx creatives is excited for the new opportunities 2020 has in store for East Texas, and we would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the amazing fellowship and contributions our followers and friends made in 2019. East Texas has many new projects lined up this year in the arts, and plenty of events for creatives to take advantage of. Across the nation many individuals participate in a New Year’s Resolution, I know I do. This year, instead of vowing to lose 10 pounds, clean up my diet or save up money, I am dedicating my resolution to promoting the arts in East Texas. I am unsure how I am going to achieve this yet, but I find it fitting to dedicate, volunteer or promote, in some way, at least two creative events this year that feed my soul. Please consider doing something creative, artistic or musical for you community and share your art resolution with us on our website: https://www.etxcreatives.com/, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/etxcreatives/, or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/etxcreatives/?hl=en!

Need inspiration? Check out Debbie Cannatella’s story at artistoftexas.org. Cannatella “helped the city of Tyler, Tx design and open the city’s first fine arts gallery, Gallery Main Street. She also helped organize the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition.” See the rest of her story at https://artistsoftexas.org/texas-art-blog/2015/1/2/meet-texas-artist-debbie-cannatella?rq=Tyler

It is important to remember that resources from other communities, states and countries are easily accessible to us via the World Wide Web. Use it for the resource it is, but I caution you not to rely on it! Think critically and share you discoveries with etx creatives so we can create a dynamic and educational community together! This month take take to check out Artwork Archive’s post, “Why Artists Fail at New Year’s Resolutions.” While it is geared to Fine Artists, the post can be reflective for general creatives, musicians and writers.

It’s December in East Texas!

Are you an ARTPRENEUR (artist/entrepreneur)?

Artwork Archive claims that all artists are in fact entrepreneurs. Does this resonate with you as an ETX artist, musician or creative? Do you agree that you are creating a brand, mission or overall identity with your talent? Artwork Archive continues to explain that ARTPRENEURs in any market need an online presence to build or maintain their brand. Awareness is key for any business and, for a creative wanting to breach the marketplace, online visibility is no exception. Many businesses make their in-store items also available online. While most artists, musicians and creatives have an online portfolio or review, is it common to see their talent listed with a price tag on their website? If not, should it become mainstream? Why or why not? Etx creatives wants to hear from you! Join the conversation and explain your thoughts on artists and entrepreneurs and their presence online.

Please visit our website: https://www.etxcreatives.com/, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/etxcreatives/, or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/etxcreatives/?hl=en to share your thoughts!

This holiday season is the perfect time to think about your talents with a business mindset. Art, music, literature or poems and other forms of heartfelt expression have been given as gifts for centuries. Whether you are creating as a hobby, are in school and developing your awareness or are an accomplished creative, your talent may be the personal touch someone is looking for in their perfect gift!
